BOX SCORE

CALDWELL, Idaho
– Freshman Chandra Baskoro (Gresham, Ore.) registered a match-high 11 kills, but Corban's women's volleyball team fell to the NAIA's No. 8-ranked Coyotes of The College of Idaho, 3-0 (11-25, 14-25, 18-25), Friday night inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

With only its second loss of the month and first in almost two weeks, Corban drops to 8-13 overall and evens its conference mark at 6-6. Meanwhile, The College of Idaho handed ninth-year head coach Liz Mendiola her 200th victory at the helm of the 'Yotes, which improved C of I's record to 15-2 overall and a co-leading 11-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

In the opening set, Corban grabbed a slim one-point lead (3-2) early before C of I used a 19-4 run to grab its largest lead of the frame (21-7) following a combo block by the 'Yotes' Kristin Henning and Jessie Link. The visiting Warriors would keep things tight over the final eight points, but could not overcome the large deficit falling by 14 points (25-11).

Set #2 saw six ties and two lead changes over the opening 23 combined points, as Corban grabbed a 12-11 lead after a service ace by freshman Jenny Harman (Salem, Ore.). Unfortunately, the visiting Warriors could not hold onto the lead as The College of Idaho used another big run (10-2) en route to securing a 24-14 lead late thanks to a kill by Link. The host 'Yotes would close out the middle set via a Warrior attack error for the 11-point win (25-14).

The third and final set was a see-saw battle over the opening 12 points, as Baskoro knotted things for the fourth and final time at 6-6 with a kill. The College of Idaho would then use a 10-5 run to secure a five-point lead (16-11) following a kill by Henning. Corban would fight back to within two points (16-14) via another Harman service ace, but the visiting Warriors could not get any closer thanks to a set and match-closing 9-4 run that ended with Henning's fifth kill of the set.

Along with Baskoro, a trio of Warriors – sophomore Tiffany Land (Independence, Ore.), freshman Morgan Hirzel (Fullerton, Calif.), and Harman – recorded four kills each to go along with sophomore Megan Dees' (Tehachapi, Calif.) team-leading 13 assists. Defensively, Corban registered 33 digs with junior libero Rebecca Franke (Pendleton, Ore.) picking up a team-high eight from her back row position.

The College of Idaho was led by Henning's 10 kills, while Link and two other 'Yotes – Marcella Hernandez and Naomi Reimer – added 9, 8, and 8 kills respectively. Reimer handed out a match-high 18 assist for C of I, while Whitney Owen and Madie Machurek registered a match-leading 10 digs each.

Corban returns to the floor tomorrow – Saturday, October 17th – looking to get back on the winning track against nationally-ranked Eastern Oregon beginning at 7:00 p.m. in La Grande.
