PORTLAND, Ore.
– Freshman Chandra Baskoro (Gresham, Ore.) was the lone Warrior and only first-year player to earn first team All-Cascade Collegiate Conference honors when the team was announced earlier Monday by the league office.

After helping lead Corban's women's volleyball team to an overall record of 10-17 and 8-10 in conference play, Baskoro was named as part of the 14-player team that included conference co-Players of the Year Grace Deboodt of Eastern Oregon and Naomi Reimer of The College of Idaho.

"I think the league really took notice of Chandra because she played all the way around for us this year," said first-year head coach Nels Norquist. "There are few girls in this league that can lead a team in hitting and passing. She was in every serve receive and was our main back row attacker. At times when we struggled to pass, she would often keep us in the rally and made a good attack on a tough set."

Baskoro, a 5-foot-7 outside hitter, led the Warriors in total kills with 243 and kills per set with an average of 2.48 during her first season of collegiate volleyball. The former Gresham Gopher also tallied 23 assists, 28 service aces, 326 digs, and 12 blocks during her freshman campaign.

The first-year Warrior finished second on the team in total services aces (28), aces per set (0.29), total digs (326), and digs per set (3.33). Baskoro also ranked 12th in the conference in kills per set, while finishing tied for 10th in digs per set and tied for 14th in service aces per set.

During her freshman season, Baskoro registered career-highs in kills (17 against Warner Pacific, 10/24/09), assists (4 versus Lewis & Clark, 10/6/09), digs (28 against conference rival Northwest Christian, 9/18/09), services aces (4 versus George Fox, 9/22/09), and blocks (2 against Biola, 8/22/09).

This is the first time ever that Corban has placed a freshman on the all-conference first team, as former Warrior Paige Stewart was named conference Freshman of the Year and earned all-conference honorable mention following her first season at then-Western Baptist.
