Six Warriors Honored as NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – With the spring seasons officially over, six Corban student-athletes were honored by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) for their work in the classroom in the sports of baseball, men's golf, softball, and men's & women's track & field.
The recipients are required to be a junior or above in academic standing; in attendance at the nominating institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified as eligible on the varsity roster; form completed with required signatures.
This season's Warrior student-athletes that were honored are...
* Mitch Riddle (Pullman, Wash.) -- baseball
* Derek Stokes (Anchorage, Alaska) -- baseball
* Nathan Furumasu (Gladstone, Ore.) -- men's golf
* Rachel Steigleman (Eugene, Ore.) -- softball
* Brian Beeson (Soldotna, Alaska) -- men's track & field
* Carli Moller (Vancouver, Wash.) -- women's track & field
During the 2008-09 academic year, 12 Corban student-athletes were honored by the NAIA national office as scholar-athletes with Beeson and Moller earning the award in both cross country and track & field.
