SALEM, Ore.
– Over the past week, Corban's Department of Athletics has had the privilege and opportunity to open its doors to local high school basketball teams that were preparing for play in their respective state tournament.

"Corban has one of the most inviting campuses in the Salem area. It has an environment for success," said Dave Johnson, Director of Athletics. "It is our pleasure to allow highly-talented and potential future Warriors the opportunity to use our facility to prepare for post-season play. We are very proud of the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center and hope to host more events such as this in the future."

Included in the list of highly-ranked teams was Regis High School's girls' team, who under the leadership of co-head coaches Jeff and Jason Koehnke went onto win the 2010 3A state title this past weekend in the Capital City.

"The staff at Corban would like to extend a congratulation to the Koehnke father-son connection and the Regis Rams for their victory this past weekend at the 3A state tournament," said Johnson.

Along with Regis, seven other teams use the lovely confines of the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center in preparation for their play in the state tournament. On the girls' side, Rogue River High School, North Medford High School, Baker High School, and Cascade Christian High School each practiced on Warrior Court over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Roseburg High School, Cascade Christian High School, and Harrisburg High School's boys teams were awarded the opportunity to prepare for state tournament action on a collegiate court.

In their respective state tournaments, neither of the girls teams advanced past the opening round of their respective state tournament. On the boys' side, Cascade Christian finished fourth and Harrisburg ended fifth at the 3A state tournament. Unfortunately, Roseburg fell to Lincoln in the second round of the 6A state tournament with the right to advance to the Rose Garden.

All-in-all, more than 80 high school athletes saw what it was like to play on a collegiate court and enjoy the atmosphere that Corban College has to offer.
